Council meetings

Council meetings

Broadcasting and recording council meetings gives the public insight into the political process and political decisions. When live streaming council meetings and political meetings, it is important that the video service meets regulatory requirements such as GDPR and WCAG. In addition to this, indexing on the agenda and speakers is important as meetings are often long and it should be easy to navigate for visitors and viewers. Indexing can be done manually in the live control when the council is streamed and recorded or automated through voting systems used at the meeting. Published council meetings need to be subtitled according to WCAG requirements and then Speech-to-Text functionality with a good editor is a key to being able to text council meetings for on-demand viewers. After the pandemic, it is often a requirement to be able to livestream and record council games with distance participants.
